Industrial media production ‘makes a splash’ by employing aesthetics that are slowly, carefully constructed for rapid playback
in the continuous programming stream. During this time I was into precision, ephemerality, the unseeable, and the ability of photography and video to gain a handle on time. I used clay and plaster assemblage, working by eye and by hand to materially form a ‘high-speed image'. It is shaped, sanded and polished and its origins erased so it vibrates with climactic ‘pop’.
